Speakers:

Denise Braun, CEO at All About Waste

Denise Braun is both a LEED and WELL AP. She is also a TRUE Advisor, Fitwel Ambassador, and ENVISION SP. She brings over seventeen years of experience in the sustainability field, working both in South America and the United States. She is responsible for the 1st TRUE zero waste buildings in San Francisco, Sunnyvale, and Los Angeles. As the head of All About Waste, Denise has led her team in performing waste audits for over 50 million square feet of buildings in the US, certifying the 1st TRUE zero waste construction in the world, and 1st project TRUE for Construction precertification outside the US. Denise was part of the Living Building Challenge Los Angeles Collaborative steering committee for two years, where she was responsible for the Zero Waste Forum. Denise sits as a USGBC-LA Board Member and at the LA Metro sustainability committee. She also serves as a zero waste and circular economy expert for the LEED MR TAG (Material and Resources Technical Advisory Group).

 

Gabriele Rosa, Project Manager at All About Waste

Gabriele, a civil engineer holding a master's degree in sustainable development and circular economy, brings a data-driven orientation and over a decade of experience leading teams to achieve elevated certification levels across a diverse asset portfolio. Her expertise not only includes providing valuable insights to various teams and fostering engagement but also involves a strong commitment to equity, building materials reuse, and environmental considerations in construction and operation. She holds LEED AP O+M and TRUE Advisor credentials, also been recognized as a Fitwel Ambassador. In her role as a Project Manager, Gabriele's portfolio comprises over 50 projects spanning diverse typologies, ranging from distribution centers with more than 10 million sq. ft to commercial offices. Known for her collaborative approach, she brings valuable partnerships to the table, along with innovative solutions and out-of-the-box ideas, always aligned with achieving the most effective and impactful results possible for each project.

 

Michael Kloha,  Senior Certifications Manager at Verdani Partners

Michael is a sustainability professional with over 8 years of collective experience in green building certifications, ESG policy development, local government, and stakeholder engagement. He works with building owners and property managers on a variety of certification programs including LEED EBOM, Fitwel, IREM CSP, and WELL. As the Senior Certifications Manager at Verdani Partners, he supports the Certifications Department by managing green building certification (GBC) projects, assisting with business development, conducting trainings, and developing GBC resources. Previously, he consulted with residential and commercial developers to incorporate sustainable design and construction strategies for their various LEED for Homes and BD+C projects. Michael graduated from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Policy and a minor in Urban Studies and Planning. After graduating, he strives to incorporate sustainability and environmental justice in communities across the world. Michael is also a former intercollegiate athlete in NCAA Cross Country and Track, and holds professional credentials in LEED AP O+M, WELL AP, TRUE Advisor, EcoDistricts AP, Fitwel Ambassador, and ActiveScore AP. Currently, he is studying for his LEED AP BD+C and BREEAM AP credentials.
